you told me to dance

Disciplines : Hand Balancing, Floor Acrobatics, Contemporary Dance

Duration : 20 min

"you told me to dance" moves in the field of tension between circus and dance. In terms of content, Moritz Lucht theamtizes those experiences he had as a solo artist, which are characterized by ambition, failure and doubt. A certain heaviness in the movement creates the impression of an increased gravitation. A force that pulls everyone to the ground, and against which everyone* has to fight every day. The plot of the production is based on a chronological representation of everyday situations: The morning routine in front of the mirror, the way to work, the work itself and the exhaustion afterwards. The repetitive and partly monotonous character of these experiences are musically taken up by electronic soundscapes and constant techno beats.

In the amazement at so much body control, the socio-critical question came to mind: By whom is the body controlled?
