Born and raised in Berlin Friedrichshain, Moritz Lucht discovered his passion for theatrical and artistic stage work during an voulantary year at the children's and youth circus Zirkus Zack in Berlin. Six years later, at the age of 23, he began a two-year training at the Escuela de Circ - Rogelio Rivel in Barcelona. It was here that he first became aware of various contemporary circus companies such as XY and Animal Religion and understood that Germany was lagging far behind in this particular genre between performance art, circus and dance. In order to make contacts and build a network in his hometown of Berlin, he decided to continue his education at Etage. Here, with his series Mr. Moe, he developed his very own style and found his artistic objective: combining the performative aesthetics of Contemporary Circus with the narrative elements of New Circus.

Moritz Lucht successfully graduated from die Etage in 2018. Despite the fact that he had to build over half of his artistic independence in a pandemic situation, he has already been able to show his pieces at various regional as well as international circus and theater festivals such as OFF Sytuacje, Poznan, Arial Arts Festival Berlin, PAF Berlin and the International Pantomime Festival Dresden and received residencies at Chapito in Lisbon and Espace Catastroph in Brussels for his work.

In Spring 2022, he founded the Black Box Circus Company with the help of the Nationales Performance Netz funding program - Stepping Out by Joint Adventures - Walter Heun. As author, production manager and performer, he worked with dancer and choreographer Alba de Miguel Fuertes and renowned director Joanna Bassi on their debut piece "CATOPTRIC". In the project, five Berlin-based performers from contemporary dance and circus, as well as a musician, come together to explore the tensions between their genres. The piece was shown at the Theater im Delphi, as well as at three different public venues in Berlin. The company has the ambition to produce long-term and continuously and to establish itself as a permanent ensemble in the capital.

2022 he was also part of the dance company from Constanza Macras - Dorkypark for the production “Drama” at the Volksbühne Berlin.
